Our History
“How do things work?” is a question that Ray asked constantly as a young boy. By the time he was ready for college, he had settled on engineering as his chosen profession and entered one of the most prestigious engineering colleges, Lehigh University.
Upon graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ray accepted a position with Westinghouse Power Corporation as a Design Engineer. Over the next 25 years, he increased his experience, knowledge and training in power generation, and traveled extensively to commission power plants that would go on to power entire cities across Europe and the USA.
Yet, throughout Ray’s career, something was niggling at him…bugging him. Wind and Solar energy, as a power source, is an age-old idea. As environmental stewards became more vocal about making choices to support the beauty of the earth, Ray agreed whole-heartedly. After all, the sun is a gift from God, a thermo-nuclear generator in the sky – and its power is clean and free. He thought of his 2 children and the world they will inherit. The renewable energy technology of wind and solar called to Ray.
With his usual intensity to understand how things work, Ray immersed himself in mastering the technologies of clean and sustainable energy production. As the science of wind generators and photovoltaic energy improved, Ray made his move. In 2006, he registered his own company, to make it possible for home owners and businesses to leave a legacy of a better world for their families and communities.
